Well we made it back in one piece, and there will be some galleries at some point in the near future. For now I have a full plate of design work and spring time outdoor preparation so we will see when I have a few moments to do photos.
I received my $40 voucher from the government for the new digital boxes that enable old TVs to receive digital signals. So off to Wal-Mart I ran to pick one up. $13.36 and a few minutes later, I am getting the clearest signal I think my circa 2002 Sanyo 36″ TV has ever received. Even more amazing is that it displays the shows coming up and little descriptions of them. Now to those of you with cable or dish, this is old hat. But I have been using an antenna since 1997 when I canceled cable. So now it feels like a luxury (with no static) that I have an electronic TV guide and it is free (with no static). Add to that the fact that I can watch everything (with no static) in widescreen and there is also a weather channel (with no static). It’s amazing! Have I mentioned that there is no static?
So here’s to cheap technology that makes me happy. Cheers!
**EDIT** Here is the link to the where you can get your $40 voucher. https://www.dtv2009.gov/
Thanks sooooooo much for clearing it up that there is NO static… whew… I was worried there! 🙂 Maybe I should get a check from the government and get me one… even though both the tv’s in my parents house have dish… still i won’t live here forever… I HOPE!!! 🙂 hahaha how did you get it???
So I’m guessing there’s no static? You weren’t really clear on that! 🙂
Yeah, I was really hoping to clear up the static problem on my imac TV… it’s a crying shame. I second Betsy’s question, “How did you get the voucher?”
I posted the link for you all.
Thanks! I signed up for two…
liz… wait, you guys don’t even have a tv!
Yeah, but plenty of people around me do and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get free blessings to give away!
