On my way home from Kansas City, I drove through Chicago to meet up with my sister, Sara Winter, as she and her friend, Alysia, were carving at the McCormick Center at a big Tool/Hardware/Lawn & Garden Dealer Expo. It was an awesome time, and really fun to watch them in action. They were carving with electric saws from Worx, and I have to say that I was pretty impressed by what they could do with them! I got to experience Michigan Street at rush hour driving the big lumbering yellow bird, and it was a quite different than zipping around in my little car. Fun times though, for sure. Those photos are awesome, I bet it was so fun getting to hang out with them a bit. 🙂 I loved when I got to go see the sweet Scott Griffey at the Funeral Home Directors convention in Boston! Hehhehee!
Oh my goodness! My favorite pictures are of the Conservative Mennonite ladies in the background with their arms folded. I would love to know what was going through their heads. Your sister is an amazing artist!
Did you design their logo?
Darci – it definitely was fun!
Liz – Yeah, the Amish were interesting to watch. I imagine it was pretty wild for them to be in the midst of the McCormick Center. I did not design the Chainsaw Chix logo – actually, Alysia, the girl carving with my sister – her husband designed it.
