Cadillac Grace

Posted on Wednesday 3 January 2007 by Joshua

Mercy! It’s the third day of 2007 and I still have not posted. I say! Well, the past few weeks have been curiously warm. It definitely has not been a normal Christmas season. The only snow we have seen was when it snowed on my birthday nearly a month ago, and that was gone in a day or so. Needless to say, with weather like this, it makes a great time to get on horseback and take a ride around. My new favorite is Grace – she’s a wonderful horse and she rides like a Cadillac. She’s half Clydesdale, so she is rather huge, but I really enjoy riding her. Before coming to Voice, Grace lived in a stall for her whole life. She was used for animal testing and extraction (or something like that). So it took her a while before she was able to be ridden, but now she is just so gentle and well mannered. She’s not headstrong like some of the horses are, so it just makes a nice easy ride. Unless she tries to canter… that is not the most pleasant experience. She’s not very good at it, and the only word I could come up with to describe what she does is “galumph.” Which, by the way, works very well… “Did you see Grace galumphing down the trail today? I almost fell out of the saddle!” At any rate, here we are, 2007. I am hoping this easy winter will last for a while, because I sure am enjoying it!
