Better

Dare I say it? Spring is finally here for sure. Really. I mean it. So much so that I washed and waxed the car. Well, at least the front of the car. You see, I ran out of wax and I was only able to do so much. Sadly, I also had no money at the time, so I couldn’t go buy any more. But hey, some is better than none, right? I think so.

Not to brag too much about my car, but I think I got a pretty good deal. My friend just got one of those Toyota Prius cars. While I have never been a fan of them since they are ugly, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with all the “cool stuff” they have. Like all you have to do is have the key on your person and you can lift the door and handle and it unlocks. No key, no open. Same to start it. There is a “power” button on the dash. As long as you have the key… How wild is that. Anyway, we were talking and he told me that on the way home after buying it, he got 37 mpg. “There was a strong headwind.” he said. Well my friends, let me just say that when I drove to NY a few months ago, my 12 year old BMW with nearly 200,000 miles on it was still getting 35-38 mpg. So until the automakers get their acts together and really make a car get some serious mileage on a gallon of gas (you know, like 100 mpg!), I will just drive my old beater car and get decent mileage and smile because it is paid for.
