Today was fairly busy. We got up and spent several hours in the prayer room this morning – it’s much more awesome to do my morning prayer and study of Matthew 5-7 (I am in ch. 6 right now) at IHOP-KC for real, rather than watching it on TV screens. Dave and Liz were there and later we met up with the Starks. We had a tour at 10am with a friendly guy named Mike, who showed us around and did a great job of giving us a realistic picture of what FSM is like. After that, we came back here for a bit, only to get a call from the FSM office about a meeting that would be great to attend. So we headed back there and got the opportunity to have a Q&A with the Dean of Students and some other FSM students as well as a visiting youth group. I think this was very helpful to Robert as he was able to ask the two guys some specific questions about life at FSM. Then we turned in application, and paid the fee. So we’ll have to wait and see what happens there.
After all of that, Dave and Liz took us to one of the best places in the entire wide world that I have even visited – The Whole Food Market. That might be a slight exaggeration, but the fact is, it was this huge supermarket sized natural food store. It’s like Down to Earth times 10. I never imagined that there could be an entire grocery store of all natural and organic food. Simply amazing. Now I want to move here for real! We got a bunch of stuff for dinner tonight (Where else can you get free range rotisserie chicken on a bed of brown rice as a to go option!?) and headed back to where Dave and Liz were staying. The Starks came over, as well as Matt King, and we all ate together and had a great time of fun playing Catchphrase. It was just good to sit around and fellowship and laugh a whole lot. I have missed that so much – and missed them so much.
And in other news, IT is finally up. What is IT? you might wonder. Well, once upon a time, a man I know – let’s call him Corey Stark – said these words to me: “Why on earth would anyone write their thoughts and feelings and post them on the world wide web? That is just stupid. I mean, who would want to read that?” Yes, you might have already guessed it. The aforementioned Corey Stark, along with wife Meredith and daughter Samii, have now posted their official website, complete with photos and a WEBLOG! It’s actually really cool. Yet another step of helping Corey to become assimilated into our culture. First by getting them on Apple products, then iPhoto, now iWeb. My plan of dominion is working perfectly … mwahahahaha! Seriously though folks – check it out – www.thestarkjourney.com – they did a great job with it.
yes, i am commenting on my own post. i look either confused or annoyed in the picture there and that is because i could not figure out what button to press on my phone to take a picture. these consarned, new-fangled cellular phones. i say!
It has been really fun hanging out down here with the Stark’s and the Carey’s. it has been great to spend time in the prayer room, the worship has been amazing. I pray that i will be able to come to school here. i really encourage people to come ans spend at least a weekend down here. There is tons of young people (17-25 years old) they are some crazy on fire kids and you can tell that they are.
It’s been great having you guys here! Hey, I don’t know if I mentioned to you that there is a Whole Foods in Chicago. Although, I know Josh hates driving to Chicago…
See if there is one in Indy…wait I think I’ve been there… Oh wait, no. That was St. Louis. Good grief. Have I traveled a lot lately or what? Where am I? Where do I live? Where am I going?
Alright… just like in catchphrase, what is that phrase again? Oh yea, “eat crow”. I’m getting better at that these days. On another note, maybe you’ll move to KC someday and we’ll eat some “humble pie” together!
We miss you guys ( Josh & Roberto) so much! We had a great night Fri. with you! I will have you on my team for catch-phrase any day my friend!
Blessings, blessings, blessings to you!
