24 Hours

Periodically throughout the year we have times of prayer and worship that go for 24 hours straight. It is our goal to have this all day every day, but until that becomes a reality, we just do what we are able. But I have to say that these times are so often such rich times of worship and intercession. It is wild to be surrounded by passionate people who desire to spend time enjoying soaking in the presence of the Lord. If that sounds weird or unfamiliar, that’s because it is something that isn’t mainstream … but should be. There are those who believe that God doesn’t really speak any longer. There are those who believe that the gifts from the Lord have passed. Let me assure you that nothing could be further from the truth. I can testify from experience that the spiritual gifts are quite real and the Lord is constantly speaking. Spending time – serious time – hanging out in extended periods of worship, or prayer and see if God doesn’t begin to speak to you. Believe me, this is something new for me, because for years of my life I was under the mistaken impression that God no longer speaks, and that the gifts were dead. I am just so grateful that God has revealed the truth to me (and is constantly doing so, thankfully!).
